American Football (NFL)

I have always loved football (soccer for the American readers!) and due to the fact I was born and raised near East London the team I support is West Ham United. Unfortunately life as a West Ham fan is not easy. Every season seems to invlove missing out on trophies and/or fighting to stay in the Premier League. Our endeavours can be summed up by the lyrics of the club's official song:

I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
They fly so high,
They reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die.
Fortune's always hiding,
I've looked everywhere,
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

If you're ever in London make sure you head on down to Stratford to try and catch a game.

Yes thats right the American version of football that is primarily played with individual's hands. That anomaly aside, I love American football and it is a growing sport here in the UK. I started watching it on a regular basis about 7/8 years ago (2012/2013).

I am a San Francisco 49ers fan. The reasons are as follows:

I've played and watched golf for as long as I can remember. My Dad taught me the basics when I was younger but as a teenager I had lessons from a professional so that I could improve.

Unfortunately I do not get the opportunities to play as much as I would like and as a result my unofficial handicap is 18 (I did get down to 15 at one point). This is all a bit disappointing given that one Essex' best golf courses is only 10 minutes walk from my house!

I am hoping that I am able to get a job in the future that isn't a 9 to 5 job so that I can play more regularly (fingers crossed).

Who doesn't love movies? There's nothing like going to the cinema (although it's getting more and more expensive!), ordering a large tub of salted popcorn, a large Coke and settling down to watch a blockbuster.

So what are my top 5 movies of all time? Take a look at my list below (as 08/04/2020):

  1. Lucky Number Slevin
  2. In Bruges
  3. Snatch
  4. Saving Private Ryan

Growing up in the 90's, I was exposed to all types of music. In the UK Indie Rock n Roll was very popular and as a teenager I was very interested in Hip Hop and R n B. My first ever CDs were Oasis, blur and Notorious BIG singles.

As I've got older my interests have expanded and I now like all different types of music. I always include the song that i was listening to on each of my blog posts and over time you will be able to see that I have a varied (and sometimes eclectic) mix of music.

So what are my top 5 songs of all time? Take a look at my list below (as 08/04/2020):

  1. Lucky Man - The Verve
  2. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Green Day
  3. No CD - Loyle Carner (ft. Rebel Kleff)
  4. My Head Is A Jungle (MK remix) - Wankelmut & Emma Louise
  5. A Milli - Lil Wayne
